If you were a kid in the 90’s you probably know more than your fair share about the The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Muve Mag recently sat down with Walter Jones. The Orginal Black Power Ranger from the hit 90’s series. Follow the scoop after the jump.

How did you come about being cast as the “black power ranger”.
I auditioned for it. They wanted someone who could Act, do martial art, tumble, and dance. They saw people for weeks. I had the right combo of skills and charisma and got the job.

Walter, can you describe a normal day on the set of MMPW?
Normal? It was constantly changing, .There’s the hurry up…and wait (rush you to the set then wait an hour for lights and camera) Jokes while we waited were a must! What normal? We had fun together!
Your character in the show had a passion for dancing. Is this something that you share with your character?
Absolutely! I love to dance. I have even won a Salsa World Champion Title.
How has being on Mighty Morphin Power Rangers influenced your life?
I can make friends anywhere I go!

What projects are you currently working on?
Producing, hosting, and directing with and for the SSS4 company.
This year marks the 20th Anniversary for MMPW. Will there be any special events or exclusive releases in light of this occasion?
They will be releasing a DVD set that covers the entire history of the series here in the states. It will be a limited release that will come in a case that resembles a Red Ranger Helmet. I gotta get one!!!
